Residents at Life Care Center of Littleton, Colorado, had a special surprise on Valentine’s Day 2017.
Ron Kraft, a certified nursing assistant and rehab aide, came to work that morning dressed as Cupid. He had valentines stuck to a pair of tights that matched perfectly with his red shorts and sash. He added a pair of feathered angel wings to top off his costume.
Kraft wheeled a cart along that had valentines on it, complete with everything from pencils to decorative wine glasses. He even made personalized valentines for associates, reading: “Thanks for all you do! Happy Valentine’s Day!”
Kraft walked through the halls handing out valentines to every associate, greeting the residents and sharing laughs with them. He added more to the fun by playing love songs through a speaker on the top of his cart. One of the songs was Celine Dion’s hit “My Heart Will Go On.”
Lynette Ridl, a rehab receptionist at Life Care Center of Littleton, said, “Ron is… I can’t even come up with a word for him. He is absolutely amazing. He is involved with our residents and looks for new ways to make them smile. He interacts with them and lifts their spirits. He just has an amazing personality and is always finding a way to make people happy.”
On Valentine’s Day, Life Care Center of Littleton was overflowing with laughter and smiles. Everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day with “Cupid” in the building.
Kraft has been an employee of Life Care Centers of America for about nine years.
